The Taking InvenTORY Round Table Talks About Resources for Domestic Abuse Survivors

Check out this feature on, Taking InvenTORY — a Denver-based talk show dedicated to real conversations that help people grow. In this episode, in honor of NO MORE week, our program officer Crystal Ayala-Goldstein joined grantee partners Dominique LaCroix (Voluntad) and Ruth Glenn (Wings Foundation) to discuss how we can better support survivors of domestic abuse, sexual assault, and human trafficking.

Resources:

Caring for Denver has supported and continues to support organizations working in intimate partner violence, domestic violence, sexual assault, trafficking, and similar forms of abuse. If you or someone you know may need support, here are resources and organizations that may be able to help.

The Blue Bench – The Blue Bench is dedicated to preventing sexual assault and providing comprehensive, free or low-cost support to survivors. They offer 24/7 hotline assistance, trauma-informed therapy, case management, and legal and hospital advocacy to help survivors heal and navigate the legal system.

Denver Children’s Advocacy Center – The Denver Children’s Advocacy Center specializes in treating complex childhood trauma cases that require intensive and long-term care. Their Treatment and Integrated Services program supports children and families recovering from trauma, abuse, neglect, and domestic violence.

Latina SafeHouse – Latina SafeHouse provides bilingual and culturally sensitive services to Latina survivors of domestic violence and their families.

Rose Andom Center – The Rose Andom Center is a place for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault to find the safety, support, and services needed to rebuild their lives and start healing.

Voluntad – Voluntad provides services to support and empower survivors of all forms of human trafficking. The organization also works to bring awareness and education to our community in the fight against exploitation and human trafficking.

Warren Village – Warren Village serves unhoused and unstably housed low-income single-parent families in the Denver area, many of whom have experienced domestic violence or other trauma. They provide on-site mental health services and support families with the resources needed to achieve economic mobility and disrupt cycles of poverty.

Wings – Wings supports adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse to transcend trauma and lead their fullest, healthiest lives.

Servicios de la Raza – Servicios de La Raza empowers individuals and strengthens communities by providing and advocating for culturally responsive health and human services and opportunities. This includes health resources and victim support. With access to counseling, sexual health services, legal assistance, and advocacy, these services help survivors heal and navigate the path to safety and justice.
