Centro Humanitario is Denver’s only day laborer center dedicated to promoting work, dignity, and community. Their mission is to empower the working class’ talents and skills through training and capacity building, as well as support sustainable economic growth.
With funding from Caring for Denver Foundation, Centro Humanitario expanded its efforts to create a culture of care, addressing challenges faced by immigrant and low-wage workers, including trauma, substance misuse, stress, and mental health issues. They also launched The Newcomers Integration Program to provide case management, trauma support, and wellness resources, helping immigrant newcomers in Denver find stability, address mental health challenges, and reduce isolation.
