Funding Opportunity Open: Alternatives to Jail

Caring for Denver Foundation is currently seeking proposals to address its Alternatives to Jail focus area. The total amount available for all grant awards in this funding area is $14.8 million for services and supports that reduce the likelihood of individuals entering or re-entering the criminal legal system by:

  • Reducing substance misuse or improving or maintaining positive mental health for individuals who are at risk of entering, currently involved with, or exiting the criminal legal system
     
  • Increasing equity in mental health and substance misuse outcomes for individuals who are at risk of entering, currently involved with, or exiting the criminal legal system
     
  • Reducing entry or recidivism into the criminal legal system for those experiencing mental health and substance misuse challenges  

Funding for this initiative is currently open for applications, with a deadline of May 10, 2023. (New registrations in the grant application system must be completed by May 8)
