Healing and recovery happen when people have support that reflects and affirms their cultures, identities, and values. Meet four Caring for Denver grantee organizations that embody this truth, and help us celebrate their stories through short films created by Rocky Mountain Public Media. |
Please join us for Caring for Denver’s first Stories on Screen event. May 17, 10:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at the Buell Public Media Center. |

We’re thrilled to showcase just a few of the many organizations addressing Denver’s mental health and substance misuse care in spaces people trust with people who understand them:
- Karis Community offers a transitional living opportunity for people managing serious and persistent mental illness
- Muslim Youth for Positive Impact provides youth-centered mental health by and for Muslim youth and their families
- The Don’t Look Back Center provides a safe, trauma-informed transitional sober living environment for women, transwomen, and/or their babies.
- Think 360 Arts for Learning uses arts to help improve the health and well-being of older adults.
They will share their stories and experiences, providing insights into how they create positive change in our communities. The event will include a screening of short films and sharing from our grantees with time for coffee, snacks, and connection in the lobby.
We hope you can join us to celebrate their work and hear their stories.
