Women’s Wilderness supports girls, women and LGBTQ+ people in accessing their power and improving their health through connections to the outdoors and community.
Caring for Denver funded the Women’s Wilderness Outdoor G.I.R.L.S (Girl Immigrant and Refugee Leadership Series) which addresses the mental health needs of adolescent girls in Denver who identify as immigrants, refugees, and asylees by interrupting their isolation and connecting them to peers, caring adults and mental health providers in a fun, embodied and subtle way. Specifically, this program focuses on making progress in girls’ sense of belonging, social support, resiliency skills, emotional intelligence and cultural competence.
