Expanding Mental Health Support for Growing Families

Thriving Families supports women, children, and families during pregnancy and the postpartum period—a critical window that shapes a child’s long-term development.

Caring for Denver funds Thriving Families’ WiseWellness program, which provides inclusive, two-generation mental health support for underserved and underrepresented pregnant and postpartum adults and teens. This program provides trauma-informed behavioral health and counseling for individuals, couples, and families.

Last year, Thriving Families reached 845 unique individuals, with 274 families enrolling in the MotherWise program. The organization is able to serve both English and Spanish-speaking families, with 30% of families receiving services in Spanish.

The program’s impact is powerful: among 192 participants who completed an exit survey, 86% reported increased resilience and confidence in their ability to solve problems, and 73% said they felt depressed less often as a result of the program.
